In Chongqing, experts from automotive and consulting companies attended the summit which mainly focused on the new vehicle business model “C2M”: Consumer to Manufacturer. This model connects production and sales via an intelligent platform and gives users more options to configure their cars. C2M can reduce the cost of vehicle sales and increase the efficiency of business processes, in order to accelerate the business transformation of the automotive industry.
Key takeaways from these roundtables
The discussions showed that most of the attending customers are currently in digitalisation or transformation phases and are looking for the right solutions for their challenges, be it integration with existing ERP systems, implementation of new technologies or the evaluation of solutions based on public cloud products versus on-premises cloud products.
For companies in the automotive industry, the path for transformation into a next-generation enterprise requires an even higher level of collaboration between the customers, partners and other stakeholders, with the technology partner playing a key role in this process. Their downstream markets are becoming increasingly important while at the same time being subject to ongoing restructuring.
